Bird Boxes and Bee Houses
We have 5 bird boxes with cameras and 15 bee houses, 1 with a camera, installed around the school.
The bees that will nest in the bee houses are Mason bees. They are solitary bees and do not live in colonies. Mason bees are often mistaken for wasps and although the female has a sting, they are not aggressive and are harmless to humans which is why they are safe for us at school. Mason bees are good pollinators which is why they are very useful for our environment.
